There are about 4200 religions in the world today. What if I told you they all got it WRONG? But at the same time, they all got it RIGHT!

It all started when…

I survived my second case of cancer at age 29. Within a year of that monumental moment where I was given yet another point in my life to turn things around for the better, they got even worse. I was an emotional wreck, wasn’t sure if the next sore throat meant another surgery, had an immune system that was so messed up that I got pneumonia three times in a year, developed autoimmune diseases that started to take the pigment of my skin. On top of all the health issues, I witnessed four suicides in my former job as a police officer, suffered from many forms of PTSD/PTSI, and was on the verge of divorce. I tried to “find myself” and “find God” in religion, since that is what everyone does when they hit rock bottom- but all I found were half-truths in each major religion. I agreed with some things, as I feel they all got something right in a way- but none of them were completely “right”. So where was I?

I discovered that this theology was actually a faith called Omnism. The word comes from the root OMNI- meaning “the all” or “in all ways”. Most importantly, it means “without limits”. And that was the key for me. That this belief does not define belief. What it means for one person may be completely different than what it means to the other.

You see, our world is so polarized at this present time that we don’t have the ability to see through the many levels of falsely created division. Black and White, Christian and Atheist, Democrat or Republican. And there are people in our world that are trying to further this divide to prevent us from uniting, because if we transcend the duality of all these things that separate us, then we move on to the next level of understanding. And with that transcendence comes greater and greater power.

The belief in Omnism is not new. Many religions teach unconditional love for one-another. But the institutions that often run organized religions keep people divided for the sake of loyal parishioner-ship (customers) to support their enterprise. Don’t get me wrong, it is great to be a part of a community and belong to a group of like-minded people, but not at the sake of saying another persons beliefs are wrong or invalid. Omnism is an open belief system that does not put a person into a prescribed box that you are not allowed to deviate from. As a matter of fact, you can believe in Christianity and be an Omnist (Christian-Omnist) or a Jewish-Omnist, or whatever you want to call yourself.

The belief that all Faiths have their rights and wrongs is the foundation of what Omnism means. Does this mean that being an Omnist means you follow every single religion? No, since some religions demand you follow no other religion. It simply means you respect and acknowledge the truth in every religion, no matter how “fantastical” some can appear. You recognize that each religion has some truth in it that you can apply to your specific life. You transcend the dividing lines of religions to gain a higher perspective from mountain top perspective- that belief in what you hold dearest to your heart and being is what true Faith is all about. From that perspective, everyone’s religious view are right, because no one perspective is wrong.

When you can view the world from a perspective that is all your own without limitations, without labels, without the things you feel most in resonance with. It’s time we move to the highest perspective possible in this reality we live in. Rising above the two halves of the whole, and encompassing the “all” that we are is the way to the next evolution of humanity.
